Books in the Attic - Hackney

  • Hackney Picture House 270 Mare St London, E8 1HE United Kingdom (map)

Hackney Attic’s new monthly literary event kicks off with a mixture of new and established authors, talks, discussion and fun.

Jake Arnott, author of The Long Firm and, most recently, The House of Rumour, will be reading from brand new work-in-progress as well as talking about his career. Hackney-based Ben Byrne reads from his debut novel Fire Flowers, set in Japan at the end of the Second World War, and Alex Christofi reads from Glass, a coming-of-age story set in, on and around the Shard. And punk legend Bertie Marshall, part of the original ‘Bromley Contingent’ of Sex Pistols fans, reads from his new book Nowhere Fast.

There will be open mic slots at which the audience will be offered a few minutes to read from their own work, or talk about a favourite book or author: come and convince us of your talent or taste.
