I'm honoured that 'Waiting for a Hurricane,' one of my short pieces of fiction, will feature as the cover story for this month's Open Pen magazine. It's a story that's very close to my heart and I'm proud it's found a home in such a fantastic magazine.
'Waiting for a Hurricane' is a tale of a young man, unrequited love, Florida retirement communities and the end of civilisation as we know it. It's also a little tender-hearted and, I hope, ever so slightly comic.
Open Pen is an excellent journal that brings together very fine short fiction by up-and-coming writers every quarter. It's also free, so what better excuse to pop into your local independent bookshop and pick up a copy to take home, read and keep forever:

Many thanks to them for letting me grace their pages!
